What a year its been!

It's been a long time since I've written and a lot has happened, so once again we're gonna start with an update.
I've worked four different jobs since I last posted in October, and now because of Covid-19 I am not working at all.
Between October and January I continued working a mix of full-time and part time jobs to pay the bills, but nothing near what I wanted to be doing. Then by chance I got an email from a former professor near the end of January that had recommended me for a full-time production assistant job on a television show filming in Pittsburgh. I interviewed and was offered the job of set dec pa! I started the following Tuesday and jumped right in and it was incredible. I loved what I was doing and I was meeting incredible and talented filmmakers.
I was working on the show for about a month and a half when we were sent home for Covid and I am still waiting to hear back an approximate time that we will return. So please keep your fingers crossed that we will be soon.
In April I celebrated my first year of being a college graduate. It's amazing to me how fast the year went and how much had happened in what felt like such a short amount of time.
Since the middle of October I have had the opportunity to work on two more sets as a production assistant and dedicate more time to my feature script as well as work on developing ideas for some short films.
Both jobs were awesome to be a part of and taught me a lot. They not only gave me the chance to reconnect with some friends on the set but also the opportunity to network and hopefully get my name and work ethic further out into the world.
Since working on the TV show, I've been inspired a lot more and came home each day excited to go back to work the next day but even more excited to spend a few hours each night working on my own stories.
Currently, I have a number of people reading the second draft of my feature film and giving me really helpful notes on it. The more I work on it the more excited and inspired I am by it. So while I wish I was working, I am grateful to Covid for giving me time to focus on my art.
I am also hoping to write a few short film scripts by next year so that I can apply to the Alumni Grant offered by Point Park.
Finally, I am ecstatic to announce that "Still Holding On", the last film I made (co-directed and co-produced) at Point Park University, was just selected as its first film festival, Indie Short Fest. Make sure to check back soon for updates as we find out if we were nominated and if we've won anything.
Thank you to everyone that takes the time to read my posts and follow along my filmmaking career. If there are any specific topics that you'd think would be interesting for upcoming blog posts, please feel free to message me!
