Can you say whirlwind?

I began writing this update yesterday as I sat in the airport headed towards my next adventure and job.

It’s already been quite a year.

I began the year directing my first short film since I graduated college. New Tables. The script I wrote 6 years ago has finally made it onto the screen.

We wrapped principal photography on my adapted script (21 pages) for New Tables on January 7. To say that this has been a long time coming and an uphill battle would be an egregious understatement.

My favorite joke quickly became asking "Who wrote this?" because the script was, is, ambitious and large.

I truly could not be happier with the cast that we have and the characters that they brought to life. Through numerous rehearsals, emails, and texts, the cast and I found so much heart in every single character and they helped me to better understand the choices that the characters made. I will always be grateful to Rachael, Stacia, Hazel, Jeff, John Henry, Michael, Emily M., Shannon, Savannah, Ronnie, Lanah, and Jack for bringing this script to life.

We shot the film in Pittsburgh, PA - North Apollo to be specific, and as a result, I got the opportunity to work alongside one of the most amazing crews I've had the pleasure to be a part of. Our crew was a combination of friends from college and from the professional sets that I've worked on. I cannot scream thank you enough to Paulina, Lindsey, Raffaele, Turner, Adam, Maggie Fitz, Luke, Ryan, Max, Rich, Candace, Katie, Emily B., Mariann, Juan, Carbo, Steph, Emily K., Emily Y., and Jordan for simply being the incredible crew you were.

I cannot stress enough that this film is everything it is thanks to the cast and crew that showed up every day, working splits and overnights, and against so many obstacles to help bring this story to life.

Thanks to our ever dedicated cast & crew, Lightbulb Rentals and Dolly's Diner in North Apollo, PA we were able to successfully call wrap at 4:30 am on Sunday, Jan. 7, on New Tables. I cried, I won't lie.

Since then, we’ve been going through our post-production process. Sitting next to our incredible editor Kelsey (and asst editor Raul) deemed me speechless. We still have a few months ahead of us with sound mixing, coloring, and music composition.

I am so proud of what we've accomplished so far. And I cannot wait to share it with you.

After filming I returned back to Los Angeles.

At the end of January I began working as a Walkie PA on Shrinking Season Two.

I was back with most of my team from Loot Season Two, that filmed back in 2023. But I also got to meet and work with so many new talented friends.

I am so thankful that I got to work on a 4.5 month job almost immediately after the strikes ended. And with friends.

Unexpectedly, last Wednesday, I got word that an opportunity was available for me to join Poker Face Season Two. This time as Natasha Lyonne’s assistant. She’ll be working as a cast member, director, and executive producer.

So the airport… yesterday I flew to New York City where I’ll be living until the end of the year working my dream job.

It’s been quite the whirlwind of a week truthfully.

I am excited (and naturally nervous) for this next adventure. Exploring a new city in an entirely new role.

It’s hard to believe what can change in a year, let alone a single week in this industry.

Looking forward to sharing more of my adventures and my short film, New Tables, later this year!
