Branching Out!

Hello everyone!
It's hard to believe that it's already October of 2020 and that my last post was all the way back in June. A lot has changed since then, and I have too.
Since my last post, I started working Part-Time at a Kohl's near me, since the show I was working on was officially postponed until next Spring.
During the month of September, I began working with my friend and fellow director, Leia Devin, on her senior thesis, Camp Moose Tracks. I worked as the 1st Assistant Director and spent most of September writing and re-writing our shooting schedule and helping in any other capacity that I could. We filmed at the end of September and I can proudly say that I am ecstatic to have been a part of the production and gotten a chance to work with so many creatives again. It was certainly one of the most challenging sets I have been on in the fact that the schedule changed nearly eight times before we arrived to set and then continued to change every day once we got to set, among a few other strong examples of Murphy's Law. However, I truly believe that Camp Moose Tracks has been my favorite set that I have been on yet.
The day before I left for our week-long filming/camping trip, I also received confirmation that I was hired on full-time onto a television show that will be on Netflix. I will be working for this show (that I'm not going to publicly announce, since I'm not sure if I can) starting this Thursday, October 8th until either the end of March/beginning of April. It is in a department that I am not familiar with, but my bosses have sent me plenty of reading material to help catch me up to speed and they've been more than friendly so far.
Between being back on a set and finding out about getting another job back in the professional world, the past two weeks I have been feeling extremely excited and driven to get back to working on my own material. I woke up early the last few days of Camp Moose Tracks and walked into the woods, sat down, and opened Final Draft for the first time in a few months. And it felt really good. I am very excited about the project I am working on, excited about the story, and excited about the chance to get back to directing my own projects again.
As I begin this new adventure with my new job, I will be continuing to work at Kohl's part-time so that I can also save up more money so that my goal of moving to Los Angeles before 2022 becomes more of a reality.
As always, thank you for reading and following along with my adventures and goals!
